The TECH-BRIDGE VET project aims to help reduce the skills mismatch in the mechanical sector with regard to technical profiles (in particular maintenance technicians and numerical control machine operators) by promoting dialogue between training institutions and businesses.
To this end, the initiative involves updating school curricula based on emerging labour market demands. This will provide a new, up-to-date and flexible training offer.
A platform will then be set up, where the identified professional profiles and related training curricula for the target students and workers will be updated. The curricula will then be tested through a summer school for young people leaving school and a lifelong learning school for workers involved in reskilling programmes. The platform will provide structured support for collaboration with the business world and tools to make VET more attractive. Finally, it will serve as a Tech-Bridge Academy model, effectively acting as a local technical skills hub for both schools and SMEs in the mechanical sector.
