VLF4EU – Virtual Learning Factory Networking and Strategy Build Up
Supporting European Industrial Digitisation Competitiveness and Growth for All
VLF4EU aims to establish a European network of Virtual Learning Factories (VLFs) to enhance vocational education and training (VET) in advanced manufacturing. The project brings together 13 partners from six countries (Italy, Spain, France, Sweden, Slovenia, Denmark) to create an integrated training ecosystem that combines innovation, sustainability and cross-sector collaboration.
Objectives
VLF4EU aims to establish a new European model of excellence in vocational education by building a collaborative, scalable network of Learning Factories. By integrating physical learning environments with virtual technologies, the project will enhance training experiences and ensure stronger alignment with industrial needs.
VLF4EU will provide modular, flexible and inclusive training pathways based on micro-credentials, designed to support both initial education and lifelong learning. The project will also identify emerging skill demands, with a particular focus on the green and digital transitions, ensuring vocational training meets the changing needs of European SMEs.
The central goal is to transform vocational training into a driver of innovation, empowering learners to actively contribute to the development and implementation of Industry 5.0 technologies within the manufacturing sector.
VLF4EU will create a shared European infrastructure to facilitate the co-design, exchange and implementation of innovative teaching methods, digital tools and training strategies, fostering transnational cooperation and generating lasting systemic impact.
ECOLE’s role
As a strategic partner in this project, ECOLE will lead the communication, dissemination, and valorization of VLF4EU’s results. Leveraging its expertise in training design and labor market integration, ECOLE will also develop VR-based micro-credential courses and immersive pedagogical modules. These innovative learning experiences will offer flexible, high-quality upskilling opportunities, especially for learners and professionals aiming to gain advanced digital and green skills through engaging, real-world simulations delivered via the VLF4EU platform.
