TAKE5 is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project lead by Jugendförderverein Parchim/Lübz e.V. (GER) that aims to strengthen basic and transversal skills among VET learners through engaging, five-minute digital challenges.

The project responds to growing skill gaps in literacy, numeracy and digital competence across Europe by introducing a fresh, motivating approach to learning based on micro-learning, challenge-based activities and digital badge recognition.

Project Objectives

TAKE5 aims to:

• Motivate and inspire VET learners by offering accessible, challenge-based digital resources.
• Strengthen essential basic skills—literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, multilingual and digital competences—critical for future employability.
• Boost learners’ confidence and self-esteem, supporting their ability to study and learn independently.
• Equip VET educators with innovative digital pedagogy, including retrieval practice and micro-learning strategies, through a structured in-service training programme.

Expected Results

The project will produce:

• A Compendium of 100 five-minute digital challenges, developed in six languages, to build key competences at EQF levels 3–4.
• A Digital Badge Framework that recognises learners’ achievements and supports micro-credentialling.
• A 21-hour In-Service Training Programme for VET teachers, delivered transnationally and nationally, focusing on digital didactics and challenge-based learning.
• Pilot activities with 420 VET learners and 70 VET educators across Europe.
• Seven Multiplier Events (“Every Skill Counts”) to disseminate and embed the results.

ECOLE’s Role

ECOLE contributes its strong experience in vocational training, digital innovation and competence certification. Specifically, ECOLE will:

• Co-develop the pedagogical content and modules for the In-Service Training Programme, drawing on its expertise in training needs analysis, digital competence frameworks and innovative learning methodologies .
• Support the design, testing and refinement of the five-minute digital challenges, leveraging its network of VET institutes and industry partners.
• Lead on quality assurance activities and participate in impact evaluation to ensure high standards across all project outputs.
• Facilitate the dissemination and sustainability of TAKE5 results within Italy through its extensive VET and business ecosystem.
